Biscuits for Santa
Your little chefs can have some festive fun in the kitchen making these yummy Christmas biscuits for Santa. This delicious recipe from My Foodie Baby is a good one to get young children involved in the kitchen, and it uses agave instead of refined sugars. Just make sure you leave some biscuits for Santa!

- 250g plain flour
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- 100g cold butter
- 1 egg
- 85g agave syrup
- Tube of icing for decorating (optional)

Zest the orange and measure out the ingredients with your little helpers

Add the flour, spices & orange zest to a big bowl and stir

Cut the butter into small cubes and use fingertips to mix into the flour/spice mixture. Little ones can enjoy all the wonderful Christmas smells as they help mix

Add a whisked egg and agave syrup to the bowl and mix to a dough

Divide the mixture into 2 and roll each one out to the thickness of a £1 coin. Place between two sheets of baking paper and pop them into the fridge to chill for at least 40 minutes

Now it’s time for your little ones to have some fun with the cookie cutters – let them get to work cutting out lots of Christmassy shapes

Pop the biscuit shapes on to a lined baking sheet and put back into the fridge for 10 mins to chill

Heat the oven to 180°C/ Fan 160°C / Gas 4. Bake for 15 mins until golden

Allow to cool and decorate with icing if you wish
